Kolkata: Eminent actor Rituparna Sengupta has been appointed the face of the BIG Salute to Bangla Women Entertainers Award campaign, the campaign being the first initiative to honour women achievers.
A creation of BIG LIVE the award will be an exclusive platform to honor women and celebrate the incredible success of the Bangla Woman Entertainers across eight different genres viz. movies, television, music, media, dance, sports and theatre.
"It is an absolute honour to be associated with such an award," Rituparna, who had won the National Film Festival of India Award in 1998 for her role in the Rituparno Ghosh's 'Dahan' and also created a niche in Bollywood with movies like 'Mein Meri Patni aur Woh'.
Rituparna, who had also acted in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, said "every woman deserves this award as their contribution to the society is overwhelming."
"I am ecstatic for being the face of this prestigious award," she exclaims.
A BIG spokesman said "the multi-talented and versatile actor Rituparna Sengupta will be associated with the BIG Salute to Bangla Women Entertainer Awards this year. Her association with a women centric awards does not come as a surprise given her own ability at donning many roles....."
