Were wrong people arrested by ATS in 2011 Mumbai serial blasts?
IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal in his interrogation has claimed that wrong people were arrested in the 2011 Mumbai serial blasts case.

New Delhi: In a revelation that could embarrass the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS), Indian Mujahideen co-founder Muhammad Ahmad Zarar Siddibapa alias Yasin Bhatkal in his interrogation has claimed that wrong people were arrested in the 2011 Mumbai serial blasts case.

A CCTV video accessed by CNN-IBN from the evening of the Zaveri Bazar blasts of 2011 shows a man identified as Waqas moving around with a bag at around 6 pm. He drops a bag, flees and minutes later blasts rock the area.

Waqas was named by the ATS in its chargesheet but he was never caught. The man is believed to be 26 years old. Bhatkal has reportedly confirmed that he is a Pakistani national, and not from Azamgarh as was earlier believed.

Sources say Waqas got himself admitted to a hospital after the blasts to avoid suspicion.

Bhatkal, the head of IM's operations in India, is the key suspect in the Pune German Bakery and Hyderabad Dilsukhnagar blasts.

Ten people including Naqee Ahmed and Nadeem Mukhtar, Kanwar Pathrija and Haroon Naik were named in the chargesheet. Police had claimed that the all of them were responsible for planning and giving logistic support to Bhatkal, Waqas and Tabrez to carry out the serial blasts.
