Anarkali Marikar is one of the most popular actresses in the Malayalam film industry. She made her film debut in 2016 with the teenage romantic comedy, Aanandam, in a supporting role. Later, she worked in popular films like Mandaram, Priyan Ottathilanu and Sulaikha Manzil, to name a few. Meanwhile, Anarkali, who is quite vocal with her views, recently shared in an interview that she doesn’t like being touched by girls. The news is currently garnering everyone’s attention. In a recent media interaction, actress Anarkali Marikar said she doesn’t like being touched and showing too much affection by girls she doesn’t know. The actress said that she does not get too close to anyone beyond a certain limit.
“I don’t like girls I don’t know touching me. I also don’t like being overly affectionate. My childhood friends know this too. I will not draw anyone closer to me beyond a certain limit. I don’t like the way people are behaving in our boundary.’- said Anarkali.
She also added, “It is not male or female. It doesn’t matter if they are the ones we like. It is a multi-layered issue. That is not to say that this thing cannot be done in some circumstances. The actress also clarified it is something to be understood from the eyes and body language.”
She also shared an experience where she said, “In college, girls used to grab us while going to programs. While standing in the crowd, they shout and dig.” Anarkali says that she feels uncomfortable with all of it.
Lastly, she also added being a female artist, there is a mindset that girls can touch and hold. The actress added that there should be a change.
Anarkali Marikar was recently seen in two back-to-back films this year. She was first seen in Mandakini. It was directed by Vinod Leela and produced by Sanju Unnithan under Spire Productions. It stars Althaf Salim, Anarkali Marikar and Ganapathi S. Poduval in the lead roles. The film was released on May 24.
Next, she appeared in Gaganachari, directed by Arun Chandu. The upcoming Malayalam-language science fiction comedy film is set in 2040s Kerala, where three bachelors meet a mysterious alien. The film stars Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese, Anarkali Marikar and K. B. Ganesh Kumar and was released on June 21.
