Andrew Flintoff Set To Join England Team Management Ahead Of T20I Series Against West Indies: Report
One of the finest English all-rounders, Andrew Flintoff represented his country in 79 Tests, 141 ODIs and seven T20Is.

Former captain Andrew Flintoff is set to return to the England setup in a new role. As per a Sky Sports report, Flintoff will rejoin the England cricket team’s backroom staff for the T20I series against West Indies. Flintoff is not a part of the England team management for the ODI series and will reach Barbados later this week ahead of the T20I series from December 13. England skipper Jos Buttler stated that it is “great” to have a legendary figure like Flintoff in the team.

“He’s been starting to do some stuff in cricket. It’s just great for him to be around, he’s obviously an England legend and it’s just nice to have him around the group. He’s not been brought in with any specific role, just to be around and observe. A few of the lads can pick his brains a little bit and he’s settled in really well. It’s great to have him with us,” Jos Buttler was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

Flintoff was recently appointed as a mentor for the England Lions’ training camp in the UAE. Flintoff and former England spinner Graeme Swann were at Loughborough earlier this month to work with the players ahead of their three-week trip. Flintoff was recently also confirmed as head coach of the Northern Superchargers men’s cricket team in The Hundred.

One of the finest English all-rounders, Andrew Flintoff represented his country in 79 Tests, 141 ODIs and seven T20Is. The 46-year-old’s best performance came in the 2005 Ashes where he remarkably guided England to a memorable triumph.

Meanwhile, the England cricket team are currently involved in a three-match ODI series against West Indies. The ODI series opener went in favour of West Indies after the hosts earned a four-wicket victory at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

England pulled off a resounding comeback in the penultimate fixture having registered a six-wicket win. The third and final ODI is scheduled to be played on Saturday, December 9.
