New Delhi: Pebble's highly awaited smartwatch, Pebble Time, has been officially announced on project-funding website, Kickstarter. The latest smart wearable device features a timeline interface and a microphone.
Yesterday, Pebble had accidentally put up a picture of the smartwatch having a colored, e-paper-like display. Rumours had been rife that the Pebble watch will have a slimmer design and the official video just proved it all correct.
On Kickstarter's site, Pebble CEO-Eric Migicovsky has posted a video explaining the Pebble Time smartwatch's specifications and functioning. He announced the device and asked for support from the users.
Pebble Time sports a microphone which can be used for responding to notifications. With a battery life claimed to last a week, this smartwatch is water resistant and customisable, which means you can change the strap to any colour of your choice.
It works with iPhone, Samsung, and other Android phones. The device has a smoother interface and the improved backlight is suitable even for sunny outdoors.
Pebble Time is fully compatible with all 6,500+ existing Pebble apps and watchfaces.
The Kickstarter campaign is aimed at early users; to allow them exclusive access to the newest product. Three colours are available under the campaign.
This project will be funded on March 28 while shipping will begin in May.
