Pets bring immense joy to our lives every day, regardless of their species, be it a dog, cat, lizard, guinea pig, fish, horse or snake. Their loyalty and daily surprises never fails to amaze us. Meanwhile, contrary to the belief that cats and dogs don’t get along, a sweet story featuring a 7 year old cat named Waffles and a 3 year old golden retriever named Maple, have debunked this misconception. The pet parent recently shared a video showing the strong bond between the two and humorously claimed how their dog was raised by their cat. The video posted by Instagram page The Golden Breakfast Club features five instances where their golden retriever’s behaviour was influenced by the cat, who tries to imitate a feline in various situations.
During conflicts, the golden retriever tries to copy her feline companion’s behaviour by throwing paws in response. Later the clip shows, when it’s relaxation time, Maple always tries to sleep on ‘the highest part of the couch.’ Not stopping there, she also shows attraction for cat toys over her standard dog toys and accompanies Waffles everywhere she goes, from the windows to occupying dining room chairs. Despite being a bit oversized for certain spaces, Maple fearlessly attempts to fit into these areas. Sharing the video, the page wrote, “When you let your cat raise your puppy.”

Soon after the video was shared, it went viral and garnered over 1 million views. The Instagram post received a flood of positive responses from followers who found the antics of Maple and Waffles both hilarious and unique.
Reacting to the clip, a user wrote, “Maple is everyone’s favorite cat-dog.”
Another shared, “Those little springs are the best toys indeed.”
An individual revealed, “My Lab was raised around poodles and often tried to be like them. Once at my aunts the poodles were up on the dining room table, so she made an attempt to climb up and hang out with us. She was very puzzled when suddenly everyone got up and left.”

The video starts with the dog attentively observing the rescued kitten during its rescue. Later, the clip beautifully shows the evolving friendship between the two pets.
