Chiru to be CLP deputy leader

HYDERABAD: Erstwhile PRP president and Tirupati MLA K Chiranjeevi is likely to be made deputy leader of the Congress Legislature Party to enable him to sit in the front row in the Assembly. But that can happen only after PRP is technically merged with the Congress in the Assembly. Speaker N Manohar has begun the exercise to ensure the merger before the commencement of the budget session of the Assembly on February 13.
Normally, after merger, Chiranjeevi should get a back seat. As that would embarrass him, the Congress leadership wants to appoint him as deputy leader of the legislative wing which will pitchfork him to the front row.
