HYDERABAD: Notwithstanding the criticism, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is trying to persuade prime minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonai Gandhi to visit Hyderabad to distribute appointment letters to the youths who secured jobs under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu.Reddy’s supporters are sure that their leader’s efforts will bear fruit. If all goes well, immediately after Uttar Pradesh elections, they may pay a visit to Hyderabad where they might even announce a programme on eradication of unemployment problem in the country like one crore jobs for the youth. The CM’s camp believes that the two leaders’ visit to Hyderabad will strengthen Kiran’s leadership in the state. The state government has drawn up Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu to provide 15 lakh jobs to the youth in the next three years with the participation of the private sector. In the first phase, appointment letters were to have been distributed by the prime minister on Feb 4 but he cancelled his visit because of his preoccupation in Delhi.Kiran Reddy, who is now in Delhi, explained the Yuva Kiranalu scheme to the party high command which, claims the CM’s office, is impressed by Reddy’s line of thinking.Hints were dropped that the PM and Sonia would visit the state soon.
