The results of Assembly elections in five states would not have any impact on next year's Lok Sabha poll and the future lay with the federal front of anti-Congress and anti-BJP parties, Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy said on Sunday.
Roy also said that the Narendra Modi wave, projected by the BJP, was an "overrated myth" adding, "people will vote for a credible alternative which is only available to them."
Asked about the Modi factor being cited by the BJP as the main reason for BJP's doing well in the polls, Roy said, "I don't think so. Modi is an overrated myth,".
Reacting to the Assembly poll results, Roy said that the federal front, comprising anti-Congress and anti-BJP regional parties, was a concept coined by Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee.
Roy also does not think that the idea that BJP performed exceptionally well in the polls is correct.
"The Congress did not do well, neither did the BJP perform excellently. If the BJP performed excellently, it would sweep in Delhi and Chattisgarh. But this did not happen," the MP said.
